OpenAI’s ChatGPT is receiving a significant update. It will allow ChatGPT to engage in voice conversations with users and interact using images. OpenAI emphasizes the potential for creativity and enhanced accessibility that this voice feature brings.

ChatGPT’s voice feature can handle various tasks, from narrating bedtime stories to settling dinner table debates and reading user-inputted text aloud. The technology behind these advancements is also being leveraged by Spotify to help podcasters convey their messages to multi-language audiences.

With image support, users can capture images of objects around them and ask ChatGPT to troubleshoot issues, plan meals based on fridge contents, or analyze complex graphs for work-related, research, or study data.

OpenAI researchers on safety and policy state that the latest version will not involve face identification. Instead, it will focus on delivering highly detailed descriptions of various images.

The features mentioned above will be available to subscribers of its Plus and Enterprise plans in the following two weeks.
